I've always been partial to the convertable tights- they have a small hole in the foot so you can wear them as tights or as leggings.

As far as the actual stretchiness of the tights, it will be pretty much equal, for the danskin ballet tights. Ask the store clerk what she recommends. The key to keeping the stretchiness of the tights is to never put them in the dryer after you wash them. They should be washed by hand in tepid water, and allowed to air dry. Putting them in the dryer will cause them to lose elasticity.
